Thank you for visiting us here at The Script-a-thon. On behalf of all of our judges, contest directors and staff, I invite you to enter the 2012 Script-a-thon Screenwriting Marathon and Competition.
The Script-a-thon is both a screenwriting contest and "marathon". You enter by July 1 then write or re-write your script for a month. Then submit by July 31 to compete for prizes. We're like the "National Novel Writing Month" for screenplays, but with tons of great incentives.
This is our 3rd annual contest and each year things keep getting better. In 2012, we've added Zachary Matz to our prestigious list of judges, and we're happy to announce Final Draft as an official contest sponsor. In addition, we've increased our grand prize offering to $1,000.
While we're definitely a smaller contest, I think that's what makes us special. We have 5 specific genre categories, and we pay careful attention to every entry we receive. Small contests mean better odds, and we offer the kind of invaluable industry exposure that's famously hard to find in Hollywood. Our judges are film legends, and easily the most accomplished panel of any contest out there.
Past winners have secured agents and optioned their scripts as a result of this contest, and we're eager to keep the ball rolling.
